Advance -- Alfred Fletcher Whorley,
80, resident of this community for many years, died at his home here
Saturday morning at 11:20 o'clock following an illness of several years.
Death was due to complications. The deceased was born in Bedford
County, VA Jan 27, 1853, the son of William and Turzale Whorley. He was
married to Nannie Ashwell Oct 15, 1893. He was a farmer all of his life
but retired a few years ago due to his advanced years. He attended the
Christian Church. The survivors include the widow; a daughter, Mrs. Lois
Brown; three grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Virginia Neighbors of
Hudson, Ohio and brother, Thomas Whorley of New Ross. A brother and
sister preceded him in death. The funeral services will be held Monday
afternoon at 2 o'clock at the home in charge of Rev. Cornelius Airhart
of Crawfordsville. Burial will be in Jamestown cemetery. - transcribed by kbz
